As we move into the coming years the magnitude of sports has begun to take on a bigger role in the foundation.
Along with fundraising for new and used sports equipment, the foundation is developing a new section exclusively based on creating a sustained recreational sports league which we hope will develop the skills of young athletes in East Africa who do not have access to gear that can help take them to the next level.
How to help
Donations of sports equipment are highly coveted because they are virtually nonexistent for youth in Uganda. We also accept financial donations that are used to purchase equipment to help the youth of Uganda. Moreover donations are not the only way to aid us in helping the world’s youth: if you wish to help with any particular projects or you have some networking information please contact us.
Here’s a list of things that would make a big difference:
ANY type of athletic shoe—new or used—are much needed
Sports socks, underwear, uniforms ANY sporting equipment specifically basketballs and soccer balls, air pumps.
Other things you could do to help:
Collect used/new soccer cleats
Ask friends, neighbors, relatives, if they have sports equipment to donate
Spread the news to sporting organizations. Do their members have used uniforms, shoes or other equipment that could be donated?
Forward this message to anyone who might have a garage full of cleats, or other unused sporting goods.
I cannot stress enough the poor quality of sports facilities in Uganda and the huge need for the simple things that we take for granted.
